Ukraine production and foreign trade

Ukraine's State Statistics Committee reports that Ukraine exported leather and leather products worth US$244 million in the first seven months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 9.8%.


Leather and leather products accounted for 0.6% of total Ukrainian exports during the period. Ukrainian imports of the same types of commodities in the January to July period were 61.2% higher year-on-year at US$138 million. Leather and leather products accounted for 0.3% of total Ukrainian imports. The production of leather and leather products in Ukraine in the first eight months of this year was 12.8% higher than in the same period in 2007. In comparison, industrial output in Ukraine in the January to August period this year was 6.3% higher year-on-year.
