UNIDO present leather LCA and footprint paper during Lineapelle

3 October 2012

The 18th Session of the UNIDO Leather Panel (Shanghai, September 1-5, 2012) addressed the important issue of the LCA (life cycle analysis) methodologies that should allow the leather industry to get a fair and accurate calculation of the carbon/water footprint of leather.

A technical report on this topic was tabled by UNIDO for getting the feedback from the Leather Panel and finalising the work. UNIDO understands that this highly relevant document deserves to be widely communicated to the leather industry and agreed to a public presentation during Lineapelle in order to reach the international leather community. This event is to take place next October 10, 2012 at 10.30am in Bologna in the Lineapelle fairground.

The main presentation will be given by UNIDO consultant, Federico Brugnoli. Representatives of Cotance, ICT, IULTCS, ICHSLTA and UNIDO will be present at the meeting in Sala Intermezzo, Hall 19-20, Lineapelle.
