The Oltin Deri Uzbek-Turkish leather joint venture in Andijan in Uzbekistan produced leather products worth 83.7 million soums (US$1 = 683 soums) in January, a 100% increase year-on-year, according to UzReport. The company expect to process 450,000 pieces of leather and goods worth one billion soums this year. Production is expected to increase in both volume and value terms compared with 2001. Oltin Deri have recently begun exporting their products to Novosibirsk in Russia.
