Yugoslavia's Federal Statistics Office (FSO) reports that Yugoslavia exported 5,751 tons of raw hides and skins worth US$8 million in the first ten months of 2002, compared with 5,121 tons worth US$7 million in the same period the previous year. Exports of tanned bovine leather of 695 tons worth US$2 million compared with those of 748 tons worth US$4 million in the corresponding period in 2001. Yugoslavia produced 7,153 tons of 'leather technical goods' in the first nine months of last year, a year-on-year increase of 900 tons. The production of leather uppers for footwear manufacture totalled 657,000 sq m, a year-on-year decrease of 170,000 sq m. The January to October 2002 figures are the latest available from the FSO.
