Tannery machinery - A preview of the machinery technology and innovation on display at Tanning Tech 2017 at Fiera Milano Rho, Milan. As the renowned technology event for footwear, leather goods and tanning – traditionally held concurrently with the winter edition of Lineapelle - this is the main European event of the year.

Market report on India - We analyse the multifaceted Indian market from IILF and what changes have occurred over the past 12 months. We also look at the exhibitors taking part and feature their products. Happening days after is the XXXIV IULTCS Congress in Chennai. Technical innovation at the molecular level – We examine some of the research and results going on with collagen and enzyme manipulation to help leather production.

Waste management – Exploring research on reducing wastewater, and how the water that is being used can be contained and managed properly. We look at beamhouse processes that are successful and those in regions that stand to use these practices as models to aspire to. Investment, as always, is key.

Machinery—an update on trends and innovations in leather machinery, with an emphasis on getting the most yield out of hides using cutting-edge technology.

SEPTEMBERTop

Market report on China – We look at what’s happening in the largest leather producing market. As well as looking at Chinese tanneries during a wide-scale transition phase to clean up the industry, we also examine the pace of the Chinese domestic market, and how Su Chaoying, president of CLIA, has said that China’s economy is shifting from export-led, investment-fuelled growth, to innovation and consumption-driven growth, and from quantity-oriented to a technology and innovation-driven model.

Fair weather – We also preview ACLE in Shanghai, Lineapelle in Milan and Première Vision in Paris.
