  • Leather fashion comes to Paris

    The next edition of Le Cuir A Paris will present all the latest in leather trends for the autumn/winter 2010-2011 season. The show will take place between September 15-18 in Hall 4 at the Parc des Expositions in Paris Nord Villepinte. At the same event in 2008 a total of 12,773 visitors attended.

  • Busy show – but was there business?

    The Brazilian leather fair, Fimec took place in Novo Hamburgo, March 24-27. Fimec is considered a regional South American fair but after having seen the regional African fairs it seemed as if we were back at a mini-version of the Semaine Du Cuir in Paris or a South American edition of Lineapelle by comparison. Fimec is the only Brazilian fair where tannery and footwear machinery is exhibited in numbers alongside the tanners.

  • APLF celebrates 25th anniversary

    Despite current market conditions there was cause to celebrate at this year’s APLF show, which was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, March 31 – April 2. The show, which consists of three shows within a show, MM&T (Materials, Manufacturing & Technology), Fashion Access and Prime Source, celebrated its 25th birthday this year.

    A new All-Africa Leather Fair is being held from January 24-26, 2008,at the Addis Ababa International Convention Center,Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

  • Paris show continues to grow

    Le Cuir A Paris continues to grow a little each edition. This time there were about 24 companies more than last year and slightly more space was occupied than this time last year (this show is traditionally bigger than the spring one).

  • WSA launch materials expo & conference

    Major suppliers have already signed up for the Materials at WSA Expo & Conference next February 19-21, 2008. The new event will bring the supply chain alongside the WSA footwear and accessories show and will focus on innovative materials such as leathers, synthetics, textiles,components,technology and sourcing solutions for the footwear sector.

  • 10th year of ACLE and still going strong

    In 1998 the All China Leather Exhibition opened its doors for the first time, in Beijing. And it snowed. All the shows since then have taken place in Shanghai, China’s financial heartland, and it is much more likely that the sun will shine. The show attracts plenty of interest and there were signs this year that in addition to the many Chinese visitors, which are to be expected, there were also parties from Korea and Japan which helps the international status of the show.

  • Jakarta show highlights local products

    The Indo Leather and Footwear Fair 2007 took place at the Jakarta International Expo in July. Organised by Kristamedia, the fair comprised two halls of finished goods manufacturers, footwear machinery, tanners and chemicals companies including Buckman Laboratories and C&E India.
