Walfertan Processors invest in the future
As part of a long term commitment to sustainable and efficient production practices, Walfertan Processors (part of the A I Topper Group) have commenced the first stages of an extensive investment programme, designed to seal the future of Walfertan as a leading wet-blue tannery in Australia.
Working together with the NSW DEC and expert consultants, latest technologies are being utilised to improve processes, equipment and quality control in order to maximise efficiencies and place Walfertan at the forefront of the Australian wet-blue industry.
These initiatives will include an upgrade of odour control equipment and modification of irrigation practices designed for long term environmental sustainability.
As previously reported, this programme will entail a capital construction phase to complete the works. The majority of these works will be completed by June 2006, with subsequent works and re-assessment to be completed by mid 2007.
