BASF price increases

BASF have increased prices for propionic acid and 2-ethylhexanoic acid, effective immediately or as contracts allow. The price increases are due to increasing costs and, therefore, unsatisfactory margins.

BASF are one of the leading suppliers of propionic acid, which is used in feed preservation and various applications in the chemical segment. Prices will rise by 120 euros/tonne in Europe; US$0.10/lb in North America; and US$100/tonne in Asia.

2-ethylhexanoic acid is a chemical intermediate for numerous industrial applications and will rise by 140 euros/tonne in Europe; US$0.10 in North American; and US$100/tonne in Asia.
