Ireland eight-month cattle slaughter

Ireland's Central Statistical Office reports that the number of cattle slaughtered in Ireland in the first eight months of this year was 6.3% lower than in the same period in 2004.
They also reported that there were 6.89 million head of cattle on farms in Ireland in June, 1.8 per cent fewer than in the same month in 2004. The figures are provisional ones.
