American hides and skins imports
The United States Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service (USDA FAS) reports that the US imported hides and skins worth a record US$130,000 from Lithuania in 2005. These were the first American hides and skins imports from Lithuania since at least 2001.
The US exported hides and skins worth US$4.43 million to Slovenia last year, compared with US$3.05 million in 2004 and US$3.41 million in 2003.
USDA FAS also reports that the United States exported hides and skins worth a record US$5.0 million to Russia in 2005. In comparison, exports in 2004 were worth US$966,000 and US$468,000 in 2003.
