New chairman of FICCI

Rafeeque M Ahmed, chairman of the Council for Leather Exports, has been elected chairman of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). Ahmed is also chairman of the Farida group of companies, a member of the board of trade in the ministry of commerce and industry, and president of the All India Skins, Hides, Tanners and Merchants Association. He is also chairman of the Ambur Economic Development Organisation and director of the Indian Institute of Leather Products.
