Serbian first quarter production and trade
Serbia's Statistical Office reports that the production of leather and leather products in Serbia in the first quarter of this year was 11.3% higher than in the same period in 2005. In comparison, industrial output in Serbia in the January to March period was 5.7% higher year-on-year.
Serbia exported hides and skins worth US$3.6 million in the first quarter of this year, compared with US$3.2 million in the same period last year. Serbian imports of the same types of commodities in the January to March period were worth US$300,000, as against US$600,000 in the corresponding period in 2005.
