185 years of A Smit & Zoon
April 1 was the 185th anniversary of the founding of Smit & Zoon by Albert Smit. Since that time, the Dutch family business has expanded and, currently, the 7th generation (Marc Smit and Mrs Valerie Smit) is managing the company.
They recently held a celebration for their employees and their partners. The celebration took place in a special location: the 'Shipping Museum - Amsterdam' illustrating a link with the company's history.
The celebration was also to thank J M Smit for his efforts to expand the company and to wish him a nice retirement.
Relations have always been a key asset for Smit & Zoon and the personal bond they have with their agents and many of their customers is considered very valuable and something they are proud of.
Smit & Zoon have strong confidence in the future and are looking forward to expand in the next generation.
