Astley join Lowe group
Astley Leathers Ltd have been bought by Lowe Corporation who bought the Colyer Watson group from Mair a few years ago. At the same time Astley were bought from Mair by managing director Nigel Dobson and his partners.
Astley are 118 years' old and have been renamed Astleys 2005 Ltd. They specialise in vegetable leathers for equestrian, belt, holsters and leathergoods purposes.
Originally the Mair Group owned Colyer Watson Fellmongery, Southern Cross and W Sutherland under the Colyer Watson umbrella plus Napier Tanning and Napier Fellmongery, in addition to Astley. Apart from Astley, all the other companies were sold to the Lowe Corporation.
