Hambrecht confirmed as BASF chairman until 2011

The Supervisory Board of BASF Aktiengesellschaft has extended the appointment of BASF Chairman Dr Jürgen Hambrecht until the end of the Annual Meeting in 2011. Hambrecht's appointment was originally scheduled to expire in 2007.
At the same time, the Supervisory Board extended the appointments of Klaus Peter Löbbe and Dr Stefan Marcinowski to the Board of Executive Directors. Löbbe's appointment will now run until the end of the Annual Meeting in 2008, Marcinowski's until mid-May 2012.
