Russian cattle numbers

Russia's Agriculture Ministry reports that the number of cattle in Russia on July 1 totalled 22.8 million, a year-on-year decrease of 5.3%, according to the Interfax news agency. A total of 3.2 million tonnes liveweight of cattle and poultry was slaughtered in Russia in the first half of this year, a year-on-year increase of 7.7%.
