Seven-month production in Eastern Europe

Serbia's Statistical Office reports that the production of leather and leather products in Serbia in the first seven months of this year was 1.1% higher than in the same period in 2006. In comparison, Serbian industrial output in the January to July period was 5.1% higher year-on-year.

Croatia's Central Statistics Bureau reports that the production of leather and leather products in Croatia in the first seven months of this year was 16.3% higher than in the same period in 2006. In comparison, industrial output in Croatia in the January to July period was 7.7% higher year-on-year.

Hungary's Central Statistical Office reports that the production of leather and leather products in Hungary in the first seven months of this year was 34.8% higher than in the same period in 2006. Manufacturers' sales of the same types of commodities in the January to July period were also 34.8% higher year-on-year, with a decrease in sales of 0.8% on the domestic Hungarian market and 42.3% higher sales on export markets.

Slovakia's Statistical Office reports that the production of leather and leather products in Slovakia continued to decline year-on-year in the first seven months of this year. Production was 3.3% lower than in the January to July period in 2006. In comparison, industrial output in Slovakia was 15.7% higher year-on-year.

The Czech Statistical Office reports that the production of leather and leather products in the Czech Republic in the first seven months of this year was 0.9% higher than in the same period in 2006. In comparison, industrial output in the Czech Republic in the January to July period this year was 10.5% higher year-on-year.
