Croatian raw materials imports in 2005
Croatia's Central Statistics Bureau reports that Croatia's leather and leather products manufacturing industry used raw materials in its production worth US$63.1 million in 2005. 'Own-produced raw materials' by leather industry companies were valued at US$161,621, with raw materials worth US$63 million purchased from suppliers.
Production of leather and leather products in Croatia in the first ten months of this year was 29.2% higher than in the same period in 2005. In comparison, industrial output in Croatia in the January to October period was 4.3% higher year-on-year.
The average number of people employed in the Croatian leather industry in the first ten months of this year was 6.9% higher than in the same period in 2005. In comparison, overall employee numbers in Croatia's manufacturing sector were 4.6% lower year-on-year.
