Irish raw hides and skins

Ireland's Central Statistics Office reports that Ireland exported raw hides and skins worth EUR55.3 million in the first seven months of this year, compared with EUR38.9 million in the same period in 2005. Imports of the same types of commodities in the January to July period were worth EUR2.4 million, as against EUR1.4 million in the corresponding period last year.
Tthe number of cattle slaughtered in Ireland in the first nine months of this year was 8.6% higher than in the same period in 2005.
