LANXESS increase prices of leather chemicals
As a result of the continuously increasing raw material, transport and energy costs, the Leather business unit of LANXESS is increasing its prices worldwide with immediate effect. As these factors vary from region to region, the prices will be addressed individually.
'This global price increase is unavoidable and will apply to dealers and our direct customers', explains Frank Paus, vice president sales & marketing in the Leather business unit, adding: 'Without such an increase we would not be able to safeguard the quality of our products and services in the long term.' According to Paus, to achieve better profitability the company are also constantly on the lookout for potential improvements and process optimisations that would lead to cost reductions.
LANXESS are one of the leading suppliers of system solutions for the leather industry, ranging from chemicals for all stages of the leather manufacturing process to intensive technical support on the customers' premises. The Leather business unit belongs to the performance chemicals segment, which posted sales of e1.977 billion in fiscal 2005.
