Nine-month foreign trade
Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics reports that Israel exported leather and leather products worth US$14.1 million in the first nine months of this year, compared with US$12.7 million in the corresponding period in 2005. Israel imported the same types of commodities worth US$75.5 million in the January to September period, as against US$73 million in the same period last year.
Turkey's State Statistics Institute reports that Turkey imported raw hides and skins, and leather, worth US$418 million in the first nine months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 16.2%. Turkish exports of the same types of commodities in the January to September period were 22% higher year-on-year at US$76 million.
Serbia's Statistical Office reports that Serbia exported leather and leather products worth US$124 million in the first nine months of this year, as compared with US$98 million in the same period last year. Serbian imports of the same types of commodities in the January to September period were worth US$170 million, as against US$133 million in the corresponding period in 2005.
