Russian cattle numbers

Russia's Federal Statistics Service reports that there were 22.5 million head of cattle on farms in Russia as of September 1 this year, a decrease of 4.4% compared with the number on the same date in 2005, according to the Interfax news agency. Of the total number of cattle on September 1, 46.8% were being reared on private farms.
