Slovak Republic nine-month foreign trade

Slovakia's Statistical Office reports that Slovakia exported hides and skins, and leather and leather products, worth US$130 million in the first nine months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 13.3%. Slovakian imports of the same types of commodities in the January to September period were 2% lower year-on-year at US$247 million.

The Kara leather clothing retailer in Trutnov, Czech Republic, says it plans to open eight new stores in Slovakia and Poland during 2007, according to the CTK news agency's Business News. Company CEO Zdenek Rinth said that five stores will be opened in Slovakia and three stores in Poland.
