Turkish production and trade

Turkiye's State Statistics Institute reports that Turkiye imported raw hides and skins, and leather, worth US$461 million in the first ten months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 15.8%. Turkish exports of the same types of commodities in the January to October period were 17.6% higher year-on-year at US$84 million.

Leather industry production in Turkiye in the first ten months of this year was said to be 17.6% more than in the same period in 2005. In comparison, manufacturing output in Turkey in the January to October period was 5.5 per cent higher year-on-year.
