Ukraine leather production

Ukraine's State Statistics Committee reports that Ukraine exported leather and leather products worth US$230 million in the first ten months of 2006, a year-on-year increase of 35.7%. Ukrainian imports of the same types of commodities in the January to October 2006 period were 19% higher year-on-year at US$108 million.

Production of leather and leather products in Ukraine in the first eleven months of this year was 12% higher than in the same period in 2005. In comparison, industrial output in Ukraine in the January to November period was 5.6% higher year-on-year

Ukraine's State Statistics Committee reports that there were 6.84 million head of livestock on farms in Ukraine on November 1, 2006, a decrease of 2.1% compared with the number on the same date in 2005.
