Ukraine lowers leather duties
Published: 27 November, 2006
The Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) adopted a law in mid-November which reduces export duties on Ukrainian livestock and leather products, according to the Interfax news agency. The law sets the export duties for livestock and leather products at 50% and 30% respectively. Following Ukraine's accession to membership of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), the country will reduce export duties on these commodities by 5% a year to rates of between 10-20% according to commodity type.
