Swan builds leather biocide business
The Casacide range of performance biocides from Thomas Swan & Co Ltd has been boosted by the acquisition of Tolcide TCMTB products from Rhodia UK. The move makes Swans a major player in the specialised sector of leather biocides with a complete portfolio of products for of diverse industrial processes.
Swan sales director Bryan Davies said: 'This acquisition allows Swans to create a global presence for biocides in the leather processing sector. We can respond to the formulation requirements of the widest range of industrial processes - with accessible expertise and support.'
The Tolcide products complement Swan's Casacide T range of biocides based on TCMTB and are used in the tanning process for leathers used in furnishing, automotive and garment applications.
Thomas Swan & Co Ltd also produces bactericide and fungicidal products for household, medical and industrial markets including market-leading chloroxylenol PCMX for antiseptic and disinfectant formulations.
