Irish cattle slaughter in 2006

Ireland's Central Statistics Office reports that Ireland slaughtered 1.77 million cattle of a total weight of 572,300 tonnes in 2006, compared with 1.68 million cattle with a total weight of 545,900 tonnes the previous year. A total of 3.48 million sheep of weighing a total of 70,300 tonnes were slaughtered last year, as against 3.61 million weighing 73,300 tonnes in 2005.
