Russian cattle data for 2006

Russia's State Statistics Committee reports that on January 1 this year, Russian agricultural producers had an estimated 21 million cattle, a decrease of 1.2% compared with the number on the same date in 2006, according to the Interfax news agency. The report noted that the mortality rate for cattle in Russia decreased from 2.5% in 2005 to 2.4% in 2006.
