Opening of Satra's test facility
The UK's Shadow Secretary of State for Trade, Industry and Energy, Alan Duncan, will officially open the Satra Technology Centre's new footwear and leather testing laboratory at its Wyndham Way site in Kettering, on April 20, 2007. Satra has recently introduced radical new methods for evaluating finished shoes for resistance to water, slip and comfort and all these tests will be incorporated in the new laboratory. With the footwear industry now globalised, Mr Duncan and industry guests will commence at 2pm with a tour of Satra's chemical analytical technology laboratory, vital to many aspects of modern legislation-driven testing, before moving on to cutting the ribbon to the new laboratory and Mr Duncan saying a few inaugural words.
