Turkish production and trade in 2006
Turkey's State Statistics Institute reports that Turkey imported raw hides and skins, and leather, worth US$564 million in 2006, a year-on-year increase of 19.2%. Turkish exports of the same types of commodities in 2006 were 17.3% higher year-on-year at US$103 million. Turkey also exported leather products worth US$360 million in 2006, a year-on-year increase of 9%.
Turkey's State Statistics Institute reports that leather industry production in Turkey in 2006 was 13% higher than in 2005. In comparison, manufacturing output in Turkey in 2006 was 5.8% higher year-on-year.
