Kazakhstan leather production in 2006

Kazakhstan's National Statistics Committee reports that Kazakhstan produced leather and leather products worth US$16.05 million in 2006, a year-on-year increase of 7.5%, according to the Interfax news agency. In comparison, industrial output in Kazakhstan last year was 7% higher year-on-year.
There were 5.67 million head of cattle on farms in Kazakhstan in 2006, an increase of 3.8% compared with the previous year. The report noted that cattle numbers increased in 13 Kazakh regions last year.
