Foreign trade in 2006

Russia's State Customs Committee reports that Russia imported leather and leather products worth US$393 million from countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in 2006. Imports of the same types of commodities from CIS states last year were worth US$4.9 million. Russian exports of leather and leather products to non-CIS states in 2006 were worth US$309 million, and to CIS states, US$17.5 million.
