Swift sell to Friboi Brazil

Latin America's largest beef processor have agreed to acquire America's third biggest beef and pork processor, creating the biggest worldwide meatpacking firm. According to the companies' respective majority owners, Sao Paulo-based J&F Participacoes SA and Dallas-based private equity firm HM Capital Partners LLC, JBS SA, maker of Brazil's Friboi meat brand, will buy Swift & Co in an all-cash transaction worth $1.4 billion.
