Norwegian first quarter exports

Statistics Norway reports that Norway exported raw hides and skins worth US$29 million in the first quarter of this year, a year-on-year decrease of 19.4%. The number of cattle on farms in Norway on January 1 this year was 900,176, as compared with 919,679 on the same date in 2006 and 936,003 in 2005. The number of cattle in Norway fell below one million in 1999.
