Serbian production and trade
Serbia's Statistical Office reports that the production of leather and leather products in Serbia in the first five months of this year was 4.5% higher than in the same period in 2006. In comparison, Serbian industrial output was 5.2% higher year-on-year.
Exports of leather and leather products increased substantially in the first five months of this year, compared with the same period in 2006. Exports worth €62.1 million were €14.3 million higher year-on-year. Serbian imports of the same types of commodities in the January to May period worth €97.3 million were €22.2 million higher year-on-year.
