Snowfall leads to livestock losses in China

China's Ministry of Agriculture reported in late January that heavy snow in central, eastern and southern China had resulted in heavy losses in the livestock sector, according to the Interfax news agency. Losses of up to 30% were recorded in some regions. First estimates of total losses in the agricultural sector were put at more than US$625 million.
