German production in 2007

Germany's Federal Statistics Office reports that 7.3 million tonnes of meat was produced from livestock slaughtered at commercial slaughterhouses in Germany in 2007. A total of 53 million pigs, 3.3 million cattle (excluding calves), 305,000 calves and 1.1 million sheep were slaughtered at commercial slaughterhouses in Germany last year.
