Ukraine company profits/losses

Ukraine's State Statistics Committee reports that 61.7% of all companies in the Ukrainian leather industry recorded gross profits in 2007, according to the Interfax news agency.
These profits totalled only US$237,786. The remaining companies recorded net losses totalling US$7.59 million.
The number of cattle in Ukraine on February 1 this year was 5.53 million head, 10.8% fewer than on the same date in 2007.
