Wages in Macedonia and Serbia

Macedonia's State Statistical Office reports that the average gross monthly wage in the Macedonian leather industry in the first two months of this year was US$263, 39.3% higher than in the same period last year.

In comparison, the average gross monthly wage in Macedonia's manufacturing sector in January and February was 7.8% higher year-on-year at US$512.

Serbia's Statistical Office reports that the average monthly wage in Serbia's leather industry in March was US$312, 23.4% lower than in February and 20.3% higher than in March 2007. In comparison, the average wage in Serbia in March was 18.6% higher year-on-year at US$827.
