JBS complete Tasman Group purchase

JBS SA have completed the acquisition of the Tasman Group, Australia. The $150 million deal makes Sao Paulo-based JBS responsible for 15,000 employees and owner of 15 production units in Australia.
The acquisition comes ‘at a time when Australian beef exporters have been doing exceptionally well, increasing their sales to the EU and other markets', JBS said in a statement. Australia was the world's second largest beef exporter behind Brazil in 2007.
