Croatian first-half foreign trade
Croatia's Central Bureau of Statistics reports that Croatia exported leather and leather products worth US$187 million in the first half of this year, a year-on-year increase of 12%. Croatian imports of the same types of commodities in the January to June period were 17.9% higher year-on-year at US$244 million.
Stocks of finished products held by leather and leather products' manufacturers in Croatia in June were 4.4% higher than in May and 33.2% higher than in June 2007. In comparison, stocks of finished products held by all types of manufacturers in Croatia in June were 0.2% higher month-on-month and 7.5% higher year-on-year.
The average gross monthly wage in the Croatian leather industry in May was US$771, a year-on-year increase of 2.1%. In comparison, the average gross monthly wage in Croatia in May was 7.4% higher year-on-year at US$1,646.
