Smit & Zoon production unit in Nanjing
On September 1 Smit & Zoon officially opened their speciality chemicals production facility in China (about 300 km west of Shanghai). Smit Nanjing Leather Chemicals Company Co Ltd (SNLCC) are located in the North suburb of Nanjing at the Nanjing Chemical Industrial Park (NCIP).
The NCIP is one of China's newest and most innovative industrial parks with a total area of 30 km2.
With a total investment of €12 million, the three phase building programme will be finalised on a total area of 20.000 sqm2. With the first phase completed SNLCC now have a 5,000 ton annual production capacity of speciality wet end chemicals. When phase three is finished this will be 20,000 tons. Chemicals produced by SNLCC will be sold to the local market.
The production plant in China is one of the many investments that strengthen the position of Smit & Zoon as a major wet-end chemicals producer.
