Macedonian eight-month production

Macedonia's State Statistical Office has reported that the production of leather and leather products in Macedonia in the first eight months of this year was 8.9% lower than in the same period in 2007. In comparison, manufacturing output in Macedonia in the January to August period was 10.9% higher year-on-year.

Macedonia's State Statistical Office reports that the average gross monthly wage in the Macedonian leather industry in the first seven months of this year was US$272, 50.8% higher than in the same period last year. In comparison, the average gross monthly wage in Macedonia's manufacturing sector in the January to July period this year was 8.2% higher year-on-year at US$468.

Macedonia's State Statistical Office reports that the number of employees in Macedonia's leather industry in the first eight months of this year was 1.1% lower than in the same period in 2007. In comparison, the overall number of employees in the country's manufacturing sector was 0.8% higher year-on-year.
