Bosnia and Herzegovina production
Bosnia and Herzegovina's Federal Office of Statistics reports that the production of leather and leather products in Bosnia and Herzegovina in October was 0.9% lower than in September and 5.4% lower than in October 2007.
In comparison, industrial output in Bosnia and Herzegovina in October was 2.1% higher month-on-month and 16% higher year-on-year.
The FOS also reported that 33,731 head of cattle of a total net weight of 5,417 tons were slaughtered in commercial abattoirs in Bosnia in the third quarter of this year, respectively 9.1% and 14.3% higher than in the same quarter in 2007.
The average net monthly wage in the Bosnian leather industry in September was US$249, a decrease of 4.3% compared with August. In comparison, the average net monthly wage in Bosnia and Herzegovina in September was US$499.
