Macedonian employment figures

Macedonia's State Statistical Office reports that the number of employees in Macedonia's leather industry in the first ten months of this year was 1.9% lower than in the same period in 2007. In comparison, the overall number of employees in the country's manufacturing sector in the January to October period was 0.5% higher year-on-year.

Macedonia's State Statistical Office reports that the average gross monthly wage in the Macedonian leather industry in the first nine months of this year was US$252, 44.2% higher than in the same period last year. In comparison, the average gross monthly wage in Macedonia's manufacturing sector in the January to September period this year was 7.7% higher year-on-year at US$429.
