Macedonia leather industry hit
Published: 13 January, 2009
Branko Azeski, head of the Macedonian Economic Chamber, has told SeeNews that Macedonia's leather industry is among the industries worst hit by the global economic crisis, which is resulting in some companies halting production and laying off workers.
Azeski added that the Economic Chamber's latest survey of companies has shown that it is Macedonia's export-orientated sectors that have suffered the most. In October, leather industry production in Macedonia fell by 10% year-on-year.
