Turkish capacity utilisation
Published: 26 January, 2009
Turkey's State Statistics Institute reports that Turkey's leather industry was operating at 58.6% of its total production capacity in December 2008, compared with 64.8% of capacity in December 2007.
The main reason given by leather industry companies for not operating at full capacity in December 2008 was shortage of demand from consumers on both domestic and foreign markets. In comparison, Turkey's manufacturing industry was operating at 64.7% capacity in December 2008.
