Nike and BLC co-host leather summit on RSL issues

Nike have teamed up with BLC Leather Technology Centre Ltd, the leather and footwear experts, to manage restricted substances in their supply chain. Following a multi-brand ESH/RSL Summit hosted by Nike, Levi & Strauss Co, New Balance and Columbia Sportswear on April 27 and 28, 2009, Nike and BLC will co-host a one day Leather Summit in Bangkok on Wednesday April 29, 2009, for Nike suppliers and associated brands.

This one day event will address the following topics: Chemical legislation versus Business execution; Understanding restricted substances risk in leather (RSL, REACH); Overview of leather making and finishing processes; Understanding and preventing RSL and other failures for leather; Leather product failures caused by heat and humidity.

The event offers a unique opportunity to: Learn about the latest RSL developments; Understand the impact of global product chemistry for the leather industry; Network with other suppliers; Share best practices with your peers.

The Leather Summit will feature special guest speakers, case studies, break out sessions and vendor expositions.
