Russian cattle in 2008

Russia's Federal State Statistics Service reports that there were 21.1 million head of cattle in Russia on December 31, 2008, 2.6% fewer than on the same date in 2007, according to the Interfax news agency.
The production of cattle and poultry for slaughter in 2008 totalled 9.3 million tonnes, a year-on-year increase of 6.5%.
